Ultrasonic Level Transmitter

What is an Ultrasonic Level Transmitter?

An ultrasonic level transmitter is a measuring device used to measure the levels of materials such as water, viscous liquids, and fuels in various industries. It uses high-frequency sound wave technology to enhance production process safety and stability.

How Does an Ultrasonic Level Transmitter Work?

  1. The transmitter sends out high-frequency sound waves towards the surface of the material or liquid.
  2. The sound waves reflect back from the surface of the material or liquid to the receiver.
  3. Upon reaching the receiver, the time taken for the sound wave to travel and return (Time of Flight) is calculated, which is then used to determine the distance or level of the material/liquid.
  4. The device converts the measurement signal into an electrical signal to be sent to the control system for display.

Applications of Ultrasonic Level Transmitter in Industries

  • Used to measure liquid levels in food and beverage industries, such as milk, fruit juice, or other clear solutions in tanks for production control.
  • Used in chemical industries to measure the level of chemicals in tanks for process control and safety.
  • Used in petroleum and gas industries for measuring crude oil, gas, and other solutions in storage tanks.
  • Used to measure wastewater and chemical levels in industrial wastewater treatment processes for process control.
  • In mining industries, it is used to measure solid material levels in silos or tanks such as various minerals.
