What are I/O modules?
SCMA has been officially appointed as the sole authorized distributor of ifm in Thailand.
I/O modules are Input/Output modules that communicate via CANopen and can be configured to determine whether each signal channel is an input or output, making them convenient for use. The control system used to receive data will be sensors (Input) and send commands to various devices (Output). They are divided into two types: Digital I/O Modules and Analog I/O Modules.
Types of Digital I/O Modules
- Digital Input Modules receive digital data (ON/OFF) from devices such as switches, buttons, or sensors that provide a signal of 0 or 1.
- Digital Output Modules send commands in a digital format, such as turning on/off motors, valves, or relays by sending signals of 0 or 1 to control various devices.
Types of Analog I/O Modules
- Analog Input Modules receive analog data from sensors such as temperature, pressure, liquid level, and speed. These signals are continuous and can accept a range of values like 4-20 mA or 0-10 V.
- Analog Output Modules send analog signals to control various devices, such as adjusting motor speed or controlling valve levels.

1. I/O Modules คืออะไร?
I/O Modules หรือ Input/Output Modules คืออุปกรณ์ที่ทำหน้าที่เชื่อมต่อสัญญาณระหว่างเซนเซอร์ แอคชูเอเตอร์ และระบบควบคุม เช่น PLC หรือ Mobile Controller โดยรับข้อมูลจากอุปกรณ์ภาคสนามผ่าน Input และส่งคำสั่งควบคุมผ่าน Output ช่วยให้ระบบ Automation สามารถจัดการอุปกรณ์จำนวนมากได้อย่างเป็นระบบ
2. Digital I/O Module และ Analog I/O Module ต่างกันอย่างไร?
Digital I/O Module ใช้รับและส่งสัญญาณแบบสองสถานะ เช่น ON/OFF จาก Proximity Sensor, Push Button, Relay หรือ Solenoid Valve ส่วน Analog I/O Module ใช้กับค่าที่เปลี่ยนแปลงต่อเนื่อง เช่น อุณหภูมิ แรงดัน ระดับ หรืออัตราการไหล โดยรูปแบบสัญญาณที่รองรับขึ้นอยู่กับโมดูลแต่ละรุ่น
3. I/O Modules ใช้ร่วมกับ PLC ได้อย่างไร?
I/O Modules ทำหน้าที่รวบรวมสัญญาณจากเซนเซอร์และอุปกรณ์ภาคสนาม แล้วส่งข้อมูลไปยัง PLC หรือ Controller ผ่านระบบสื่อสารที่รองรับ เช่น CANopen, PROFINET หรือ EtherNet/IP จากนั้น PLC จะประมวลผลข้อมูลและส่งคำสั่งกลับไปยัง Output เพื่อควบคุมอุปกรณ์ต่าง ๆ
4. Remote I/O หรือ Decentralized I/O คืออะไร?
Remote I/O หรือ Decentralized I/O คือการติดตั้ง I/O Module ใกล้กับเซนเซอร์และแอคชูเอเตอร์ที่อยู่ห่างจาก Controller แทนการลากสายทุกเส้นกลับเข้าตู้ควบคุมโดยตรง วิธีนี้ช่วยลดความซับซ้อนในการเดินสาย และทำให้สามารถขยายระบบเครื่องจักรได้สะดวกขึ้น
5. I/O Modules ของ ifm รองรับ CANopen หรือไม่?
รองรับในผลิตภัณฑ์บางกลุ่ม โดยเฉพาะ ioControl สำหรับ Mobile Machine ซึ่งสามารถเชื่อมต่อกับ Mobile Controller ผ่าน CAN Bus และใช้ CANopen สำหรับการรับส่งข้อมูลและตั้งค่าพารามิเตอร์ นอกจากนี้บางรุ่นยังรองรับ J1939 อีกด้วย
6. I/O Modules รองรับ PROFINET และ EtherNet/IP หรือไม่?
I/O Modules ของ ifm มีรุ่นสำหรับเครือข่าย Ethernet Industrial ที่รองรับ PROFINET และ EtherNet/IP โดยสามารถเชื่อมต่อ Binary Sensors และ Actuators เข้ากับ Fieldbus ได้โดยตรง ทำให้สามารถส่ง Input และ Output ระหว่างหน้างานกับ PLC ได้โดยไม่ต้องมีระบบส่งสัญญาณเพิ่มเติม
7. I/O Module แตกต่างจาก IO-Link Master อย่างไร?
I/O Module ใช้รวบรวมและกระจายสัญญาณ Input/Output ของอุปกรณ์ภาคสนาม ส่วน IO-Link Master ทำหน้าที่เป็น Gateway ระหว่างอุปกรณ์ IO-Link กับ PLC หรือระบบ IT โดย IO-Link Master ของ ifm สามารถเชื่อมต่ออุปกรณ์ IO-Link ได้สูงสุดถึง 8 อุปกรณ์ในบางรุ่น และส่ง Process Data, Parameter และ Diagnostic Data ไปยัง Controller ได้
8. I/O Modules สามารถใช้กับเครื่องจักรเคลื่อนที่ได้หรือไม่?
ได้ ifm มี I/O Modules ในกลุ่ม ioControl ที่พัฒนาสำหรับ Mobile Machine โดยเฉพาะ สามารถติดตั้งแบบกระจายตามส่วนต่าง ๆ ของเครื่องจักรเพื่อรับข้อมูลจาก Digital และ Analog Sensors รวมถึงควบคุม Actuators และ Hydraulic Valves ได้โดยตรง
9. ควรเลือก I/O Module อย่างไรให้เหมาะกับงาน?
ควรพิจารณาประเภทและจำนวน Input/Output, Digital หรือ Analog Signal, แรงดันไฟฟ้า, Output Current, Protocol ที่ต้องใช้ เช่น CANopen, PROFINET หรือ EtherNet/IP, ระดับการป้องกัน IP, Connector และสภาพแวดล้อมในการติดตั้ง รวมถึงตรวจสอบว่าสามารถทำงานร่วมกับ PLC หรือ Controller ที่ใช้อยู่ได้หรือไม่
