What is a safety light grid?

A safety light grid, or protective light curtain for people protection, is a type of protective light beam switch with options ranging from 2 to 4 beams. It is used to prevent individuals from entering areas where robots or machinery are operating to avoid danger. The height of the light grid ranges from 160mm to 1510mm and it complies with Type 2 and Type 4 IEC 61496 standards.

Differences between Safety Light Grid and Safety Light Curtain

• A safety light grid is suitable for protecting wide areas or multiple directions as it can detect obstructions at multiple points simultaneously in various directions.
• Safety light curtains are typically used in narrow areas where protection from entering a dangerous area from one direction is required.
