What is a Key Selector Switch?

A Key Selector Switch, also known as a key-operated rotary switch, is an electrical control device that requires a key to rotate and change positions in order to open or close circuits or select different operating modes. It is suitable for systems requiring security or restricted access.

Main Functions of a Key Selector Switch

  • Used to turn on/off circuits or operational systems
  • Select operating modes, similar to general selector switches
  • Increase security by preventing unauthorized access to controls
  • Commonly used in control panels, security systems, or dangerous machinery

General Features of a Key Selector Switch

  • Includes specific key sets to limit access rights
  • Available in 2 or 3 positions (e.g., ON/OFF, AUTO/MANUAL)
  • Some models allow the key to be removed when in a certain position
  • Supports control voltages such as 12VDC, 24VDC, 220VAC
  • Standard installation size is Ø22 mm or Ø16 mm
  • Contact types can be NO / NC or a combination thereof
