What is an ORP Meter?

An ORP Meter, or Oxidation-Reduction Potential meter, measures the ability of a solution to undergo oxidation-reduction reactions. It uses millivolts (mV) as its unit of measurement and indicates whether substances in the solution are capable of losing or gaining electrons.

The operation principle involves using an electrode sensor that detects the electrical potential difference between two electrodes immersed in a solution. There is a sensitive indicator electrode and a reference electrode. When submerged, the sensor measures this potential difference and converts it into an electrical signal for processing and display on the screen.
