A limit switch is an electrical device used to open and close circuits in order to restrict the distance or position of automatic system operations. This requires physical contact between various mechanical parts of the switch and the target object, such as in machinery, conveyor belts, elevators, or automatic doors, to check positions, stop operations, or control movement.
Types of Connections
Open connection (NO): The contacts are open when no force is applied and close when force is applied, allowing the electrical current to flow through.
Closed connection (NC): When no force is applied, the contacts remain closed; they open when force is applied. Electrical current can flow until it is pressed again.
