Air circuit breaker (Air Circuit Breaker) is what?
An Air Circuit Breaker (ACB) or air circuit breaker is a large electrical system protection device (Main Circuit Breaker) that automatically disconnects the electrical circuit when abnormalities occur, such as short circuits, overloads, or earth leakage. It uses air as the medium to extinguish electric arcs. ACBs are large and robust, capable of handling high currents, often used as main breakers in main distribution boards (MDB) of factories or large buildings.
Installation of Air circuit breaker
Fixed Type (Fixed type): The breaker is fixed to the cabinet frame, more cost-effective but harder to maintain as it requires shutting off power for removal.
Drawout Type (Drawout type): The breaker sits on a sliding rail and can be "rotated" or "pulled out" for maintenance without turning off the main busbar, more convenient and safer. Commonly used in standard factories.
