It is a non-contact switch suitable for loads requiring precise electrical power control, such as heaters, lamps, or small motors.

Working Principle

This solid state relay operates based on the principle of Phase Angle Control, which involves controlling the duration of AC sine wave opening in each cycle: Analog input (4-20mA or 0-10VDC) is converted into a control signal within the SSR. The internal system delays the opening of the AC signal for half cycles of the power supply; the higher the input, the earlier the relay opens in the sine wave, resulting in more energy being delivered to the load. Consequently, the load (such as a heater) receives more or less power according to the input.
