Working Principle

The Phase Control SSR works by delaying the Triac's turn-on timing within each half cycle of AC power: AC power has a sine wave (50/60Hz) characteristic. The SSR input is connected to a Potentiometer which sets the "phase angle" at which current starts flowing. The longer the delay (the later it turns on after zero crossing), the less energy output → lower heat/speed.
