Working Principle of pH / ORP Controller
SUPMEA SUP-pH8.0 receives signals from pH or ORP measuring electrodes, then processes and displays the values on the LCD screen. The measured values can be used for control and monitoring systems through output 4-20 mA, RS485 or relay according to the usage format.
pH measurement relies on measuring the electric potential difference related to the activity of hydrogen ions in the solution, while ORP measurement is the detection of oxidation-reduction potential, which is an indicator of the chemical condition of the solution. Appropriate sensors and settings are required for the parameters to be measured.
The device supports Manual or Automatic temperature compensation to adjust the pH measurement processing according to the temperature of the solution and the electrode response.
Measurement and Control Functions
