Laser & Distance sensors are what?

SCMA has been officially appointed as the sole authorized distributor of ifm in Thailand. 

Laser & Distance sensors are laser beam switches that can detect and measure small objects at a distance with high accuracy. They can be installed in narrow spaces, have straight beams, and can detect objects as small as 0.1 mm at a distance of 50 mm. There are also models that can detect objects up to 10 meters away.

How Laser & Distance sensors work

1. Time of Flight calculates distance based on the time it takes for laser light to travel to an object and reflect back.
2. Triangulation uses calculations from the angle of reflected laser light to determine the position of objects, with reflections hitting sensors at positions that can be calculated for distance.
3. Phase Shift measures distance based on changes in the phase of reflected laser light. This method is used in applications requiring high precision and accuracy, especially over short to medium distances.

Types of Laser & Distance sensors

• Laser Range Finders are used to measure the distance between a sensor and an object directly.
• Laser Displacement Sensors detect and measure the position and changes of objects over short to medium distances.
• Laser Scanners use laser beams to scan objects or surfaces, providing three-dimensional images or detailed information about them.
