Details of PH10(3/8")-2-5-AC220V / Diaphragm 2/2 way NC, Stick PTFE on the Rubber Di
The Diaphragm Solenoid Valve (Solenoid Valve Diaphragm Type) is a valve that controls the flow of liquids or gases using a diaphragm and solenoid to open and close the valve. It is commonly used in automatic systems such as water supply systems, irrigation systems, compressed air systems, and various industries.
Working Principle of Solenoid Valve Diaphragm Type
Main Components
Solenoid Coil (Electromagnetic Wire Winding): Creates a magnetic field when electric current flows through it.
Plunger (Movable Steel Rod): Lifted or lowered by the magnetic field.
Diaphragm (Flexible Rubber/Silicone Sheet): Opens and closes fluid pathways.
Pilot Port (Pressure Control Port): A small port that helps control pressure on both sides of the diaphragm.
Operating Mode
Normal Closed (NC) – Normally Closed
No electricity → Plunger closes pilot port → Pressure on both sides of the diaphragm is equal → Diaphragm keeps valve closed.
Electricity applied → Plunger is pulled up → Pilot port opens → Pressure above the diaphragm decreases → Fluid from below pushes the diaphragm up → Valve opens.
Normal Open (NO) – Normally Open
Similar principle but reversed pressure side → No electricity, valve is open; with electricity applied, valve closes.
Advantages of Diaphragm Valve
Rapid opening and closing.
No leakage (as the diaphragm does not wear out like other types).
Easy maintenance.
Suitable for clean fluids such as water, air.
Usage Details
Potable water system – Controls water in filtration machines and cold water makers.
Irrigation systems – Opens and closes water according to schedule.
Food/Pharmaceutical industry – Used with clean fluids that require precise control.
Pneumatic systems (Compressed Air) – Controls air supply in machinery.
Home appliances such as washing machines, coffee makers.
