Details of GP50(2")-L-DC24V is latching coil, Diaphragm 2/2 way NC,PVC Seal
The Solenoid Valve Diaphragm Type (Diaphragm Solenoid Valve) is a valve that controls the flow of liquids or gases using a diaphragm and solenoid to open and close the valve. It is commonly used in automatic systems such as water supply systems, irrigation systems, compressed air systems, and various industries.
Working Principle of Diaphragm Solenoid Valve
Main Components
Solenoid Coil (Electromagnetic Wire Coil): Creates a magnetic field when electric current flows through it.
Plunger (Movable Iron Rod): Lifted or lowered by the magnetic field.
Diaphragm (Flexible Rubber/Silicone Sheet): Opens and closes fluid pathways.
Pilot Port (Pressure Control Port): A small port that helps control pressure on both sides of the diaphragm.
Operating Mode
Normal Closed (NC) – Normally Closed
No electricity → Plunger closes pilot port → Pressure on both sides of the diaphragm is equal → Diaphragm keeps valve closed.
Electricity applied → Plunger is lifted by magnetic field → Pilot port opens → Pressure above the diaphragm decreases → Fluid from below pushes up the diaphragm → Valve opens.
Normal Open (NO) – Normally Open
The principle is similar but reversed in terms of pressure → When no electricity, valve is open; when electricity applied, valve closes.
Advantages of Diaphragm Valve
Rapid opening and closing.
No leakage (because the diaphragm does not wear out like other valves).
Easy maintenance.
Suitable for clean fluids such as water, air.
Usage Details
Potable water system – Controls water in filtration machines and cold water makers.
Irrigation systems – Opens and closes water according to schedule.
Food/Pharmaceutical industry – Used with clean fluids that require precise control.
Pneumatic systems (compressed air) – Controls air supply in machinery.
Home appliances such as washing machines, coffee makers.
