The Diaphragm Type Solenoid Valve (Solenoid Valve Diaphragm Type) is a valve that controls the flow of liquids or gases using a diaphragm and solenoid to open and close the valve. Working Principle of Solenoid Valve (Diaphragm Type)

Main Components

• Solenoid Coil (Electromagnetic Wire Winding): Creates a magnetic field when electric current flows through it.
• Plunger (Movable Iron Rod): Lifted or lowered by the magnetic field.
• Diaphragm (Flexible Rubber/Silicone Sheet): Opens and closes fluid channels.
• Pilot Port (Pressure Control Port): A small port that helps control pressure on both sides of the diaphragm.

Operation Mode

Normal Closed (NC) – Normally Closed 

• No electricity → Plunger closes pilot port → Pressure on both sides of the diaphragm is equal → Diaphragm closes valve.
• Electricity applied → Plunger is lifted → Opens pilot port → Pressure above the diaphragm decreases → Fluid from below pushes the diaphragm up → Valve opens.

Normal Open (NO) – Normally Open 

• The principle is similar but reversed in terms of pressure → When no electricity, valve is open; when electricity applied, valve closes.
