Working Principle of Solenoid Valve Diaphragm Type
Main Components
Solenoid Coil (Electromagnetic Wire Coil): Creates a magnetic field when an electric current flows through it.
Plunger (Moving Iron Rod): Lifted up/down by the magnetic field.
Diaphragm (Flexible Rubber/Silicone Sheet): Opens and closes fluid channels.
Pilot Port (Pressure Control Port): A small port that helps control pressure on both sides of the diaphragm.
Operation Mode
Normal Closed (NC) – Normally Closed
No electricity → Plunger closes pilot port → Pressure on both sides of the diaphragm is equal → Diaphragm closes valve.
Electricity applied → Plunger is lifted up → Opens pilot port → Pressure above the diaphragm decreases → Fluid from below pushes the diaphragm up → Valve opens.
Normal Open (NO) – Normally Open
Similar principle but reversed pressure side → No electricity, valve is open; with electricity applied, valve closes.
