Details of PK15(1/2")-N-4-AC 24V / Diaphragm Type 2/2 way NC, PA Nylon plastic body
The Solenoid Valve Diaphragm Type is a valve that controls the flow of liquids or gases using a diaphragm (diaphragm) and solenoid (solenoid) to open and close the valve. It is commonly used in automatic systems such as water supply systems, irrigation systems, compressed air systems, and various industries.
How a Diaphragm Solenoid Valve Works
Main Components
Solenoid Coil (Electromagnetic Wire Winding): Creates a magnetic field when electric current flows through it.
Plunger (Movable Iron Rod): Lifted up/down by the magnetic field.
Diaphragm (Flexible Rubber/Silicone Sheet): Opens and closes fluid pathways.
Pilot Port (Pressure Control Port): A small port that helps control pressure on both sides of the diaphragm.
Operating Mode
Normal Closed (NC) – Normally Closed
No electricity → Plunger closes pilot port → Pressure on both sides of the diaphragm is equal → Diaphragm keeps valve closed.
Electricity applied → Plunger is pulled up → Pilot port opens → Pressure above the diaphragm decreases → Fluid from below pushes the diaphragm up → Valve opens.
Normal Open (NO) – Normally Open
The principle is similar but reversed pressure side → Without electricity, valve is open; with electricity applied, valve closes.
Advantages of Diaphragm Valves
Rapid opening and closing.
No leakage (because the diaphragm does not wear like other types of valves).
Easy maintenance.
Suitable for clean fluids such as water, air
Usage Details
Purified water system, used to control water in filtration machines and cold water dispensers.
Irrigation systems, open/close water according to schedule.
Food/Pharmaceutical industry, used with clean fluids that need precise control.
Compressed air (Pneumatic) systems, controlling air supply in machinery.
Home appliances such as washing machines and coffee makers.
