Details of GD20(3/4")-N-3-AC110V / Diaphragm 2/2 way NC, NBR Seal
The Solenoid Valve Diaphragm Type is a valve that controls the flow of liquids or gases using a diaphragm and solenoid to open and close the valve. It is commonly used in automatic systems such as water supply systems, irrigation systems, compressed air systems, and various industries.
Working Principle of Solenoid Valve Diaphragm Type
Main Components
Solenoid Coil (Electromagnetic Wire Winding): Creates a magnetic field when electrical current flows through it.
Plunger (Movable Iron Rod): Moves up and down with the magnetic field.
Diaphragm (Flexible Rubber/Silicone Sheet): Opens or closes fluid channels.
Pilot Port (Pressure Control Port): A small port that helps control pressure on both sides of the diaphragm.
Operation Mode
Normal Closed (NC) – Normally Closed
No electricity → Plunger closes pilot port → Pressure on both sides of the diaphragm is equal → Diaphragm closes valve.
Electricity applied → Plunger is pulled up → Opens pilot port → Pressure above the diaphragm decreases → Fluid from below pushes the diaphragm up → Valve opens.
Normal Open (NO) – Normally Open
The principle is similar, but reversed pressure side → When no electricity valve is open, when electricity applied valve closes.
Advantages of Diaphragm Valve
Rapid opening and closing.
No leakage (because the diaphragm does not wear like other valves).
Easy maintenance.
Suitable for clean liquids such as water, air.
Usage Details
Potable water system – Controls water in filters and cold water machines.
Irrigation system – Opens and closes water according to time.
Food/Pharmaceutical industry – Used with clean liquids that need precise control.
Pneumatic system (Compressed Air) – Controls air supply in machinery.
Home appliances such as washing machines, coffee makers.
